Originally name SkyDrive then on January 27, 2014 Microsoft announced that SkyDrive is rebranded the name to OneDrive known as a free online storage that’s built into Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1. If you are running Windows 8 operating systems, you probably already notice this app from the active windows tile. Don’t worry Windows 7 users; just go to this URL link: http://goo.gl/P0te4f and download the app. whenever you have internet connection, you can always sign in to access your files online at http://goo.gl/iC3Owf.
OneDrive is an alternative to other well known free cloud storage service in the likes of Google Drive and DropBox. On my previous review regarding DropBox, I was not fully updated regarding OneDrive. With OneDrive free, you get up to 15GB free space!! This is very sufficient enough for personal use and it’s absolutely FREE!! But if you decide to upgrade there are other options that requires payment. When you are comparing to DropBox free, you only get 2GB free space to start with and I believe Google Drive is up to 17GB free space. Folks, after been using OneDrive for about 4 months I’m overwhelm on what it can do for you.
I can honestly say, with OneDrive you can perform as much as DropBox and even more compare to Google Drive. Everyone has it’s preferences with it comes to cloud storage, with OneDrive with the 15GB free space out the bat and you are able to share files, folders, and change permissions then invite people, get a link sent off via email to friends or colleagues. DropBox can do the exact same process, but you only get 2GB of storage space. Then if you want more space, you have to do this extra work by referrals, invite people, and share on Face Book and twitter, etc…
Doing my research and reading more frequently on OneDrive. I have to say, OneDrive is a free cloud storage that exceed my expectations. Don’t get me wrong, Google Drive and DropBox are awesome free cloud storage with the benefits that it can bring you. Then again, If you are a Google fan and been using DropBox for years more power to you. I would highly recommend OneDrive for my main free cloud storage due its clean, easy manageable interface, as part of the Microsoft ecosystem ties with outlook.com, Office 365, and much more!
Conclusion: This is a very to the point review and you can decide for yourself, but before I go. I would like to provide you with a valuable recommended reading @Amazon Kindle store.
